The Fiab Caserta in Bici association intervened on the cycle paths, in particular the new one that connects Corso Giannone to the Municipal Library: “The new cycle path has the great merit of connecting an important axis on the east-west direction which will allow, perhaps for the first time in Caserta, to start a decisive path towards sustainable mobility and new city lifestyles, guaranteeing a greater number of journeys with greater safety without a car, even to go to work, to school or to give a further possibility for tourists to continue his experience in the center after the Palace, all with greater health and freedom of choice, in a largely flat city”.
And again: “Our compliments certainly go, in this case, to the municipal administration of Caserta which has implemented an important project with PNRR funds, this is precisely what should make everyone understand, citizens, social and business operators, the political class, how decisive the strengthening of alternative mobility, pedestrian and cycle, is for the strategic objectives of the ecological transition at a global and European level”.
Fiab Caserta in Bici, which has been fighting for the concept of gentle mobility in the city for over a decade and in this time has implemented dozens of practices and educational initiatives towards this objective, is “enthusiastic about the 18 km network of cycle paths that will soon characterize the city at the conclusion of the projects in the field, as well as the possibilities opened up with the widespread use not only of the muscle bike but also of the electric one capable of indicating an alternative and safe route for citizens and for those coming to Caserta at the same time , the association will continue to be a ‘sentinel’ for unresolved problems and to develop improvement proposals; for example, it is considered essential to relaunch the figure of the municipal Mobility Manager, which in addition to being a legal obligation, must constitute a fundamental element, a fulcrum for the coordination of all initiatives aimed at sustainable mobility”.
And he concludes: “For this reason, also thanks to the national network of the Italian Environment and Bicycle Federation, Caserta In Bici will definitely be at the side of those who want to make the new cycle network one of the means for a European city in which to live better. We are ready to be actors of this new system and work towards awareness-raising and valorisation activities.
