Italian Left – Green Alliance Left at the Legnano market

Saturday 20 April Sinistra Italiana – Alleanza Verdi Sinistra will be present in Legnano from 9.30am to 1pm at the market in the central hemicycle.

Alleanza Verdi Sinistra joins the promoting committee and supports the La Lombardia SiCura petition to «save public health which is increasingly at risk in Italy and Lombardy. We are witnessing the dissolution of equal access to care, healthcare has lost the characteristics of a public service, reducing itself to a “system” that follows market rules – explains a note sent by the organizers -. The countless cuts in public spending carried out over the years are building a system in which the right to health is linked to people’s economic availability, so much so that the number of citizens who are giving up treatment is dramatically increasing. With the petition that can be signed at the banquets and online we ask: – Single booking centre; – Reduction of the inequity of waiting lists; – Stabilization of precarious healthcare personnel; – Care of the elderly; – Reconstruction of a territorial network of services”.

«Saturday at the market is also an opportunity to join the Italian Left to support proposals and issues such as gender equality, the minimum wage, the reduction of working hours for equal pay, protection against moral and psychological harassment in the workplace, the restoration of the provisions of art. 18 – continues the note -. Economic and social inequalities undermine democracy and the quality of existence, the irruption of artificial intelligence, if not governed, risks marginalizing human beings and the climate crisis calls into question the very existence of the planet. Social and environmental issues are increasingly linked. Let’s mobilize for PEACE by reiterating, as we have always done in Parliament, our “NO” to sending weapons. Peace is not built with weapons.”
