A conference was held yesterday in Trento at the provincial palace, promoted by the Government commissionerate, on the risk of infiltration of organized crime in Trentino.
During the event, recent initiatives on the topic were illustrated, including the memorandum of understanding between the province and the public prosecutor’s office to facilitate investigations into economic crime, the agreement against mafia infiltration in the economy between the police station of Government and Confindustria and the permanent observatory on crime and possible infiltrations in the economy.
«We have worked with great commitment on this issue», explains Government Commissioner Filippo Santarelli. «It is important to keep in mind that no territory is free from the risk of mafia infiltration. We wanted to send a message: there is a network to combat the phenomenon which, however, to be effective, requires maximum collaboration from everyone.”
Finally, during the discussion other relevant issues emerged, such as money laundering techniques resulting from criminal proceeds and the fundamental role of information technology and artificial intelligence in carrying out investigations.
The government commissioner, the president of the autonomous province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, the president of the provincial council, Claudio Soini, the president of the council of local authorities, Paride Gianmoena and the prosecutor of the Republic of Trento, Sandro Raimondi, spoke during the conference. .
