On Monday 6 May at 3pm the conference room of the Bottini dell’Olio Library will host the presentation of the volume “Albaredo and Livorno: the two lives of Domenico Petrelli (1833-1911)”.

A farmer from Albaredo for S. Marco, in the Orobie Valtellina area, tells the story in the Memoirs the 25 years spent in Livorno as an emigrant, except for brief absences. From his writings, the fascination exercised on him by the city and his lifestyle shines through, a love that blossomed at first sight: “At six o’clock on the 14th [novembre 1848] I saw from the sea the beautiful and much praised Livorno and its sanctuary”.
