Extraordinary maintenance interrupts railway traffic Foligno Perugia Terontola

Maintenance interrupts traffic – The Italian Railway Networkleader in the Infrastructure Hub of the FS Italiane Group, has announced that it will carry out construction works maintenance extraordinary on the Foligno – Perugia -Terontola line. These works will take place from 11.40pm on Saturday 20 April to 5.00am on Monday 22 April, near the Perugia Fontivegge station.

The focus of the maintenance intervention concerns a hydraulic work located under the track. The latter will be removed to allow the works to be carried out. From consequencerailway traffic will be interrupted for approximately 30 hours between the stations of Perugia PSG and Perugia Fontivegge.

Despite the interruption, the effects of the works on the regularity of the railway service will be limited. In fact, the new offer is already available for consultation on the railway company’s website.

The works, worth 150 thousand euros, will involve about 30 people. This group will be made up of RFI employees and staff of contracting companies, who will work on civil works, armament and railway systems.

This intervention is part of the plans of maintenance programmed by the Italian Railway Network. The main objective of these plans is to ensure the safety and efficiency of the railway infrastructure. In this way, RFI is committed to providing a high quality service to its users, despite the challenges that may arise during extraordinary maintenance operations such as this.

The April 21st and 22nd Extraordinary maintenance work is planned on the Foligno–Perugia–Terontola line near the station Perugia Fontivegge. Therefore, rail traffic will be suspended between Perugia Ponte San Giovanni and Ellera-Corciano and bus trips are planned.

Sunday 21 April: for the trains of the Perugia-Rome and Florence-Foligno connections there are bus trips on the Ellera–Perugia Ponte San Giovanni route. The departure of the buses from Perugia to Ponte San Giovanni is approximately 15 minutes earlier than the usual departure time of the trains to Rome. The Frecciarossa 9329 Turin-Perugia will end the journey at Terontola station, from where a replacement bus service is planned to Perugia.

Monday 22 April: The Frecciarossa 9300 Perugia-Turin will depart from Terontola station. From Perugia to Terontola there will be a replacement bus service departing at 5:00, earlier than the usual departure time by approximately 20 minutes.

Bus journey times may increase in relation to road traffic. The available seats may be fewer than the normal train service, so it is advisable to consider replanning your trip. Bikes are not permitted on buses and large animals are not permitted except guide dogs for the blind.

The purchasing channels are updated with the train and bus schedule.

To make it easier for passengers to transfer from train to bus and vice versa, Trenitalialead company of the Passenger Hub of the FS Group, will activate customer assistance facilities in the Ellera and Perugia Ponte San Giovanni stations.
