Cuneo prison, cell phone found in the possession of prisoners

A brilliant judicial police operation was carried out in the Cuneo prison on the evening of April 30th. “The UILPA Penitentiary Police is writing long pages of news through every means of communication on the phenomenon of cell phone intrusion and the weakening of the security systems of Italian prisons, but it seems that no one cares or worries that much. This new type of crime, which is added to the many that take place inside a prison, is spreading like wildfire. The shortcomings of the penitentiary administration in relation to staff training and refresher courses and the provision of instrumental resources necessary for the fight against crimes – clarifies the Secretariat of the UILPA Penitentiary Police – they are merely compensated by the pride of women and men in uniform in belonging to a State Police Force! , on the evening of April 30th the staff of the Penitentiary Police department of the city prison confirmed that they were capable of acting according to the evolution of the times, in combating the activities of organized crime in prison”.

“The operations – adds the UILPA Penitentiary – which took place on the evening of 30 April led to the discovery, during the inspection and counting tour by two officers, of a mobile telephone device carefully hidden in the various departments, or in the external showers, located in the corridor of section C, of the Stura pavilion where it was unthinkable to find him. The success – comments the UIL – is only due to the careful observation and knowledge of the habits of people deprived of liberty by the Agents, who spend more than a third of their daily lives in the institution. It is another blow carried out by the same police workers who are often subjected to harassment and denigration, gratuitously and uselessly. It is the best part, the good part, of the Police personnel who continue to honor the institutional mandate for the good of the community, both penitentiary and external Cuneo civil society.
