Paid parking per race? Nigretti: «Amet can continue to manage it, mayor consider it well»

Reading articles and posts in recent days, it seems appropriate to me, in my capacity as CEO of Amet Spa, to highlight the following.

In these few months of management of the historic municipal company (now owned) of the Municipality of Trani, the new Board of Directors is facing vital choices for the Company itself, for its employees and always, and above all, with a view to providing an efficient service to our citizens.

In doing this, with the heart of a Tranese doc, I would invite our current administrators to understand the discontent felt in the streets.

In recent days I have managed to define, in the best possible way, the controversy that Amet spa had with the curatorship of Gerseb srl regarding the enlightening idea of the then mayor, Dr. Tarantini, of wanting to give the city of Trani a new theater in memory of the one then present in Piazza Teatro but, unfortunately, destroyed by the bombs of the Second World War.

The planned move of the Amet headquarters from Piazza Plebiscito to a remote warehouse in the industrial area would not only have taken away the history that, still today, can be felt in the office rooms but, above all, would have done a disservice to the citizens who would have had to move to an area device to pay electricity bills and/or request information on the service.

That project, unrealized and unachievable, ended, thanks to an intense negotiation with the lawyers of the two parties, for Amet with only a small wound of 182,000.00 euros compared to the sum of approximately 290,000.00 euros indicated in the provision of the ruling of the Council of State.

The current Administration, today, has resolved in a brilliant way, in my opinion, with the purchase of the two now disused cinemas, resolving the issue of the lack of a theater in Trani.

Amet finds itself facing, among many others, an imminent deadline such as that relating to the awarding of the paid parking service.

I believe that the errors, or rather the assessments made in the past, should not return in our times even with reference to a service (that of paid parking) which has always been productive for the Member thanks to the acquired competence and professionalism of the Manager of the sector and its subordinates in always providing a profit every financial year.

Today Amet, despite knowing that the service has expired and the imminent opening of the summer season, will, within a few days, assign the task to a company (from Trani) for the reconstruction of the horizontal signs of the blue stripes as well as having hired 3 other auxiliaries of the stop to support the historic 5 initial units.

All this solely and exclusively to provide an efficient service to the city of Trani but, above all, to the numerous (hopefully) tourists who will come to our city and will be our word of mouth to describe not only the beauty but also the efficiency of the services of our city .

And to make this service even more efficient, the Amet Board of Directors is now able to address the age-old issue of the lack of parking spaces with its own project without causing any damage to the residents of Trani.

I can confidently state that Amet has all the capabilities, now acquired in previous years, to be able to CONTINUE this public service by being able to carry out, in agreement with the Administration, the preparation, with its own autonomous resources, of new and modern car parks with new park rides and maintaining the same prices currently in force which, moreover, are lower than those of neighboring cities.
