Tamborini: “Criticism from the opposition? But what if they wanted an electoral agreement in Mornago.” Cassani: “Hypothesis immediately excluded”

The League has proposed a electoral agreement to the mayor of Mornago in view of the next elections? The revelation arrives between the lines of a press release spread by the majority led by mayor Davide Tamborini which, taking away a few pebbles in relation to one accounting dispute for which the opposition had asked for his resignationrevealed that he had received a phone call from the leaders of Salvini’s party.

The criticisms of the Northern League opposition, states the majority of “Viviamo Mornago” led by Tamborini, are “consequence of the rejection of the request for an electoral agreement aimed at including part of some representatives from the current minority in the Viviamo Mornago list, received through a phone call made to the Mayor by the leaders of the provincial secretariat of the League”. A request, writes the note from the group led by Tamborini “which received a denial”.

Mornago will go to the vote next June and mayor Tamborini is about to make his candidacy official. Called into question, the provincial secretary of the League Andrea Cassani does not accept this interpretation:

Cassani: “any agreement option excluded”

«In recent months I had seen the mayor in my office in Gallarate as local discussions were underway but he had expressed the desire to discuss it directly with me – explains Cassani -. On the hypothesis of going to the next elections together, I know that he then spoke about it at a local level with the section and I understand that no agreement was reached, preferring the unanimous will of the Lega group which immediately excluded the option to support the candidate representing the current minority group. An even more shared choice after having learned with amazement about the issue of the Court of Auditors. We were decidedly surprised at how such a relevant issue, sent by the Court of Auditors itself to the prosecutor’s office for the identification of any liability profiles, remained secret without being made known to the city councillors”.
