New earthquake in the province of Siena felt by the population. A shock of magnitude 2.5 with epicenter 2 km southwest of Radicofani (Lat. 42.8830, Lon. 11.7580) at 8.17 pm yesterday Thursday 18 April 2024, at a depth of 5 km.
The earthquake, localized by the INGV-Rome Seismic Room, was followed by two shocks Still Radicofaniin the following hours. The earth shook again, although with less force than the first earthquake. An earthquake that arrives a few days later compared to that of Poggibonsiwith an even greater magnitude.
Two more earthquakes in Radicofani
The first shock was the most powerful, also felt by citizens, but the earth began to tremble again in the early hours of the night yesterday, Thursday 18 April 2024. At 11.28pm, a new earthquake of magnitude 1.4 with epicenter a 2 km southwest from Radicofani (Lat. 42.8860London. 11.7450) to a depth of 8kmand then another shock of magnitude 1.3 at 11.50pm, with an epicenter 4km southwest of the Sienese town (Lat. 42.8670London. 11.7530) to a depth of 10km. Both earthquakes were localized from INGV-Rome Seismic Hall.
The perceptibility
The strongest shock (magnitude 3.4) exceeded warning threshold, i.e. 2.5 Richter magnitude.
