Fulginium’s response to the facts relating to the U15 match against Real Foligno

FOLIGNO – Following the events relating to the U15 futsal championship match between Fulginium and Real Foligno, Fulginium replies through its Facebook page.

The ASD Fulginium, following the Official Press Release n. 180bis of the Umbria Regional Committee, tends to specify the following.
Let’s get to the facts.
Given that:

– On 16.04.24 the match of the Under 15 5-a-side football championship between Fulginium and Real Foligno C5 was suspended by decision of the pitch following a fight both on and off the pitch;

– On 17.04.24 the Real Foligno Calcio a 5 club sent a letter to various newspapers, to the Mayor of Foligno, to Juventus FC (to which we are affiliated), to the Umbria Regional Committee and to the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in which we were accused of ” racism”, of targeting with “insults and offences”, of having started a “hunt for the opponent”, of fouls of “unprecedented violence” towards opposing players, of various provocations and threats, as well as of having given rise to a assault on a car.
Well, the text of the Federation’s statement reads verbatim:

“Given that in the 13th minute of the first half a fight broke out involving fans and members of both teams; that scuffles broke out both on the pitch and in the stands; that although the race director asked the officials to have the police intervene, this request remained without practical effect; that considering that the conditions for the continuation of the match no longer existed, the match director was forced to decree the end of the match prematurely and that the responsibility for the interruption of the match must be ascribed to both clubs”.

Here, let’s focus on this last point: “responsibility ascribed to both companies”. We do not hide the fact that our members have certainly done something wrong, but others have made accusations that are defamatory and damaging beyond belief to the image of the club, which has stood out for its youth sector activity for over 30 years. These charges find no confirmation in the referee’s report, with the Sports Judge in fact punishing (rightly) BOTH clubs with a forfeit defeat and a fine of €125.00.

Let’s move on: from the press release it emerges that two players are disqualified, one belonging to our club (“for protesting conduct towards the referee and insulting towards an opponent”) and one from Real Foligno C5 (“for protesting conduct in towards the referee and insulting towards an opponent”); two of the managers were disqualified, but both belonged to the host club.

We don’t mention names, just go and look at them in the official document; we only report that one was banned until 30 September 2024 (“because, under ban until 19 MAY 2024, at the start of the match he approached the referee and uttered phrases that were seriously disrespectful towards the FIGC bodies. Subsequently during the match, uttered disrespectful and abusive phrases towards the referee”); the other until 30 June 2024 (“because, under the ban until 19 MAY 2024, during the match, positioning himself in the stands, he repeatedly and blatantly protested against the referee and insulted an opposing fan”).

This attack undoubtedly hurt us, it hit us hard, because every day we seek the good of our kids. We can’t say we didn’t make a mistake, but we are far from what was written (even in a rather questionable form) and sent here and there by email without any criteria. If anyone wanted visibility, they definitely got it. We struggle to understand the reason for such vehemence towards us, who have never had anything to do with Real Foligno; evidently discrediting us has become fashionable. We certainly will not tolerate other “stunt” like this avalanche of slander, ready to assert our image in any appropriate forum.
