Weather Alert: Stormy winds with gusts up to 90 km/h arriving in many of our regions.
In the next few hours and throughout the day Friday 19 April the transit of a first cyclone over the Mediterranean basin it will activate strong winds of Mistral on the north-western coasts of Sardinia, with violent gusts up to 90 km/h, especially in the Bocche di Bonifacio area, where it can even reach 115 km/h. The strong wind will also whip the Sicily and a good part of Calabria (especially in the Apennines) where gusts even higher than are expected 60-75 km/h.
As the hours pass, the currents from the north-west/west will affect all the regions of the Centre-South, also causing a general drop in temperatures. On the middle and upper Adriatic, however, the wind will blow Bora, with peaks of up to over 70 km/h between Veneto and Romagna; in these sectors we do not exclude the risk of storm surges along the most exposed coastlines. Strong winds from the northern quadrants also over Liguria, Tuscany and Lazio.
