Lamezia, agreement approved for the ancient village of via del Progresso: Municipality requests interventions on roads, parking and greenery

Lamezia Terme – It will be up to the municipal council to give the green light or not to the agreement between the municipality and the company that will have to build the ancient village, the large shopping center which for about 20 years has been at the center of a complex bureaucratic and judicial affair, which arose in various appeals and sentences of the administrative justice.

The Municipal Council approved the draft agreement “relating – we read in the deed – to the transfer of areas for the benefit of the Municipality, to the execution and maintenance of the planned urbanization works and to the transfer to the implementing entity of the road relics of public property included in the intervention perimeter subject to the building permit”. The complex will be built on Via del Progresso on a surface area of ​​approximately 137,880 square meters and the project envisages various buildings of various sizes and structures, with retail sales activities, gym, catering, multi-store, equipped greenery, offices, studios private individuals and professional firms. In the agreement that will be submitted to the Municipal Council, part of the areas that will be sold by the Municipality are acknowledged but also the so-called urbanization works to be carried out by the private company, starting from the car parks for public use (12,960 m2), the access road from via del Progresso to the sports hall and Carlei (9,500 m2 of roads) and 17,600 m2 of green surface.
