The Fifa agent and former footballer spoke to 1 Station Radio
TO 1 Station Radio Marco intervened De Marchi, Fifa agent and former footballer of, among others, Juventus and Roma. Below is an excerpt from the interview.
What is the best future for an Italian football prospect like Federico Chiesa?
“Not managing it myself and not having close relationships, I can only give an opinion on what the situation appears to be from the outside. I think I can say that there is a bit of discontent in the air, in not finding the right location. He is a great player, perhaps employed in roles that do not enhance his characteristics. I see him as a winger in attack, to be used with an inverted foot. It is from that area of the pitch where he managed to make a change of pace for the team. I read that Federico recently didn’t appreciate the changes in the last few games. There come times in clubs when a replacement is needed and, perhaps, Chiesa is also evaluating the situation to convey his thoughts to the club. I repeat, however, that this is my interpretation of what we read these days.”
What will be the future of Max Allegri? It now seems certain that Thiago Motta will sit on the Juventus bench…
“Certain situations are taken for granted, and football is also beautiful for this reason. We read and listen to comments that seem to be already taken for granted when, in fact, things can change on the fly. Allegri still has one year left on his contract. Last year there was a change in the technical area with the arrival of Giuntoli, one of the best ever. I believe that here too there is an ongoing evaluation, without prejudice to the fact that this bad mood could define the right moment to separate. However, in this case a broader evaluation from an economic point of view would be necessary. Max, with his CV, has demonstrated that he has done well. In the history of each of us, however, there are cycles that come to an end. As for Motta, I think he wants to stay focused on a very important season finale. It will be a choice that we are all waiting to understand.”
Is Conte really close to Napoli?
“This year there will be a movement of coaches like, perhaps, never before. From what I understand and what I have heard, I believe that Conte is the number one target for Napoli. He has become an extraordinary coach, with great temperament and desire to compete to win. Napoli should offer him something extraordinary. After this year, without the European cups, there would be some problems. It is a moment in which Antonio is evaluating all the situations, assuming that Naples is an extraordinary place.”
