Official: Italy will have five teams in the 2024/25 Champions League
With the passage of Atalanta, Fiorentina and Roma into the European semi-finals, it has been confirmed that Italy will have one of the two best coefficients of the season. There will therefore be five representatives of the Bel Paese in the Europe that matters.
The new format of the Champions League rewards Serie A: starting from next season, two places will be assigned to the two countries with the best coefficients of the season. The first beneficiary of this change is Italy itself.
Although it has no representatives in the Champions League semi-finals, Serie A has three teams in the semi-finals of the other two competitions: Roma and Atalanta in the Europa League and Fiorentina in the Conference League. These performances guarantee them one of the top two places in the coefficient table for 2023/24.

There is also the possibility of six Italian teams. If Roma or Atalanta win the Europa League and do not finish in the top four in Serie A, Italy will take the top four of the championship, the winner of the Europa League and the extra place for sporting performances.
In the fight for second place, Germany is ahead of England. With Bayern, Dortmund (in the Champions League) and Leverkusen still in the running, the Germans have a strong chance of beating England (with only Aston Villa in the Conference League) and securing the other extra place in the Champions League.
