CATANIA – On April 20th, from 9.30 am onwards, in the conference room of Palace of the Sicilian Region in Catania (ex ESA), located in via Beato Bernardo 5, will take place encounter by title: “Our children, collective responsibility towards the orphans of feminicide“.
The initiative is promoted by regional deputy of the Democratic Party, Ersilia Saverinowith the support of the presidency of the Sicilian Regional Assembly.

Meeting in Catania on policies for feminicide orphans
After the greetings of the regional deputy, a meeting is expected institutional intervention by the prefect of CataniaMaria Carmela Librizzi, followed by reports from various experts, including Graziella Priullaformer professor of sociology of communication at the University of Catania, Carmen Boscopsychotherapist responsible for the “Respiro” project for Thamaia, Monica Malafoglialegal expert for Save The Children for the “Respiro” project, Gabriella Messinaregional secretary of the CGIL Sicily, Giuseppe VecchioGuarantor authority for children and adolescents, Marisa Scavomagistrate at the district attorney’s office of Catania, Nunzia Albanoregional councilor for family, social policies and work, e Valeria ValenteSenator of the Republic.

“It is a crucial moment to evaluate policies to support children, girls and boys deprived of family presence, in particular the maternal figure“, explained Ersilia Saverino, promoter of the initiative including orphans of feminicide among the recipients of funding dedicated to the fight against gender violenceas established in the recent financial law.
Regional deputies, administrators and representatives of associations will also participate in the event.
