Hospital, pro Mazzini committee: «Collaboration between entities is needed» – Teramo

TERAMO. Maximum collaboration between the institutions and a clear path to create the new hospital in Villa Mosca. This is what the pro-Mazzini civic committee urges in light of the recent evaluations relating to the intervention. «The findings of the municipal health commission have confirmed the will already expressed unanimously by the council: the new hospital must find its natural location within the former Mazzini site, where the expensive healthcare facilities currently exist», highlight the coordinators Domenico Bucciarelli And Demetrio Rasetti, «from the analysis of the technical report formulated by the working group it is specified that, despite the presence of critical issues, the conditions exist for a project in line with the current legislation». According to the committee “the task has therefore passed from the Municipality to the Region which, having technical offices, will have to draw up a detailed feasibility study based on the healthcare logistical needs and the corresponding financial commitment”. Bucciarelli and Rasetti recall that the regional government has had 120 million available since 2017 “with which a large part of the future healthcare structure can be built”.
The committee therefore sees a “simple, obligatory and well-defined path, in which the Region, the Local Health Authority and the Municipality must participate in harmony, each for their respective competences: in this regard we ask for maximum collaboration and synergy between them in order to achieve the intervention, so as to once again avoid the cancellation of significant financial resources.” According to Bucciarelli and Rasetti, further wrongs in Teramo must be avoided. «Our city in Abruzzo needs more considerations for its relaunch», they say, «the people of Teramo in recent years, with ten thousand signatures in favor of the Mazzini site, have demonstrated that they are there. They are no longer willing to suffer unjustified delays. If what was hoped for were to be hindered, we are ready in the short term to return to the people to explain to them the responsibilities attributable to the parties for the failure to carry out the work”.
