Also in Trapani the “Made in Italy Day”

On the occasion of the National Day of Made in Italy, the Mayor of Trapani, Giacomo Tranchida and the Councilor for Culture, Rosalia d’Alì met a delegation from the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy at the RossoCorallo atelier of the Fiorenza family. Starting this year, the National Day of Made in Italy will be celebrated on April 15th of each year, dedicated to the promotion of Italian creativity and excellence.

Trapani is among the 10 cities selected to celebrate national creative excellence, thanks to the work and commitment of the Fiorenza family and the RossoCorallo shop-laboratory chosen among the Made in Italy excellences.
“We are convinced that the artisanal and productive excellence of our territory must be supported and valorised” declare Mayor Tranchida and councilor d’Alì, “we thank Platimiro and Rosadea Fiorenza for the great commitment they put into carrying forward and making the The art of coral, an ancient and valuable Trapani tradition that has taught many other realities. All this great intangible heritage must be carefully preserved, handed down to new generations and enhanced with precise actions. For this reason we accepted the invitation to participate in the meeting and to start a direct dialogue with the Ministry in order to complete a series of projects that also involve other artisan and productive realities in our territory. At the request of the Ministry, we will shortly present two projects already in the pipeline which we hope can be supported”

The Day was established and will be celebrated on 15 April each year, the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, which occurred on 15 April 1452. The date was chosen by the Italian Government to honor Made in Italy every year, and will celebrate the concept that encompasses those products and services that represent Italian excellence in terms of design, care, quality of materials and workmanship. Telling the identity of a place through small, but incredibly important, stories of women and men who have gone through the events of their land, leaving a mark and making it grow.

10 Italian companies have been identified who, with their work, create masterpieces of quality, perfection and craftsmanship every day. An exciting journey from north to south of the Belpaese, which goes from Friuli to Sicily, from fabrics to gloves, from perfumes to umbrellas, from small artisan companies to large industrial factories, to get to know the people who contribute thanks to their ideas and work to make Italy unique.

Prevention and donation – A meeting organized by the ANED Sicily Committee was held at the Rosina Salvo State Higher Institute in Trapani, with fourth grade students, called “The culture of prevention and donation”. We talked about kidney diseases, prevention and organ donation. The active participation of the children with many questions addressed to the doctors present gives rise to hope for a concrete reversal of the negative trend which has seen opposition to organ donation in Sicily stand at around 50%. «We thank the promoters of the initiative, the participants and the school institution involved – declare Mayor Tranchida and Councilor Virzì – because it is essential to support initiatives like these to reaffirm the importance of the culture of donation, understood as taking care of other. Life is a precious gift to be safeguarded and becoming a donor is very simple: just give your consent to the registry office of your municipality of residence when renewing your electronic identity card or register online using the AIDO service (Italian association organ donors)”.

The ranking for 2024 composters has been approved – The new ranking for the assignment of domestic composters for 2024 has been approved. In particular, 30 applications were received within the terms of the public notice released last December and only one of the applications received was found to be unsuitable and therefore excluded. Thanks to the municipal regulation regarding home composting, users can in fact access a relief of 100 euros per year through a composter delivered free of charge by the company Formula Ambiente. The service, which has been operational for several years, is always highly appreciated by users, especially in the city districts. “We are facing an important phase, with the imminent completion of the works at the new ecological island that we will soon inaugurate in the industrial area, the restoration of multiple services following the approval of the accounting instruments, i.e. the next restart of the collection of plasterboard, asbestos , aggregates and pruning clippings and now, with the approval of the ranking for composters, we confirm a service which over the years has seen considerable approval from TARI users – declare the Mayor of Trapani Giacomo Tranchida and the Councilor for Ecology Emanuele Barbara. However, despite the efforts of those who continue to correctly separate waste and despite the numerous high fines thanks to the cameras, there are still numerous critical issues today resulting from the indiscriminate abandonment of rubbish along city streets with an increase in costs for the entire community for subsequent reclamations. We therefore invite – conclude Tranchida and Barbara – to immediately report those who continue to dirty the city, remembering that today this is a criminal action”.
