Italian Green Factory; Nobis, Trapani: Industrial Plan confirms investments and employment for 294 former Whirlpool Napoli employees.

Now the framework agreement at MIMIT

In the meeting held today with the national and local trade union delegations, the management of Tea-Tek/Italian Green Factory presented the industrial plan for the industrial relaunch of the former Whirlpool Napoli site in via Argine.

Italian Green Factory has confirmed and detailed the reindustrialization plan of the former Whirlpool factory. An important but not obvious fact. The total investments are €83 million, of which €72 million for the industrialization of the new plant and for the purchase of machinery, while €11 million are intended for research and development projects structured in a research center which will eventually be able to collaborate with the University of Naples and with the ITS for projects for the placement of highly qualified personnel.

Production will be divided between component elements, which will supply the solar tracker market and the finished product of power skids and will become fully operational from January 2026.

An industrial project therefore that looks at the energy transition market which could have the prospect of maintaining long-term employment.

The management has also communicated that it is possible to expand the internal production process with a carpentry activity in the next month, which could lead to further investments and hiring. Confirmation of the implementation of this plan, called: “acceleration plan” will be available by the end of next month.

From the point of view of the new corporate asset, what was communicated in the last meeting at MIMIT was confirmed where the evaluation of a possible entry of Invitalia continues. The project could be supported by both the Business Safeguarding Fund and the Development Contract. We are now awaiting the ministerial meeting for the definition of the framework agreement which will have to confirm the contents of the industrial plan, the commitment of the local institutions on the matters within their competence and the definition of the terms with which MIMIT will support the development and consolidation of the reindustrialization project.

Today another important step was taken towards returning to full employment in Via Argine.
