Sunday, April 21st will mark an epic moment for four citizens of Ravenna, as they will compete in the first edition of Ironman 70.3 in Valencia. Gerardo Langone, Federico Gasperotti, Lucio Ciammetti and Marco Polastri are preparing to swim, cycle and run for over 113 km, facing a challenge that requires determination, resistance and courage.

Triathlon Team Ravenna presents the athletes:

Gerardo Langone, a 61-year-old agent at Sara Assicurazioni, has faced numerous obstacles in life with tenacity and determination. Now, he embarks on this new sporting adventure, supported by his TTRA team

Federico Gasperotti, recently retired at the age of 57, sees this race as a new phase in his life, an opportunity to test himself and discover new passions. His life experience will certainly be an advantage as he faces the challenges that lie ahead.

Lucio Ciammetti, an energetic 38-year-old, brings with him a youth and determination that have led him to dream big. With a strong competitive mentality, Lucio aims to prove his worth in this challenging race.

Finally, Marco Polastri, 34 years old, is preparing to bring his energy and determination to this challenge. With a combination of youth and experience, Marco is training hard to face every stage of the race with confidence and determination.

The race:

The race will begin with a 1.9 kilometer swim in Spanish Bay, a true test of endurance and aquatic ability. Next, participants will undertake a 90km bike ride along the coast and through the surrounding hills, before finishing with a half marathon winding through the bed of the ancient Turia River.
