CREMONA – A 51-year-old man, with a police record against him and resident in the province of Varese, was arrested for receiving stolen goods and illegal possession of a firearm. It happened in Cremona. The carabinieri of the mobile radio section of Cremona were alerted late yesterday evening by the owner of a restaurant in Largo Boccaccino who asked for help because a man with a gun had entered his business.
Arriving immediately on site, the military found only one customer present who matched the description of the person reported. Realizing their presence, the man attempted to hide the weapon in his waistband, but was immediately blocked. A 7.65 caliber pistol was found on him with abraded serial number and with a shot ready to be fired. The weapon was complete with a magazine with four more cartridges inside. Two other bullets of the same caliber were also found in a pocket.
With the help of the owner of the place, the carabinieri reconstructed what happened: the man appeared evidently impaired by alcohol, with a gun in his hand pointed upwards and had taken a beer, saying he wouldn’t paid. Once he boarded the police car, he hit a window with his head and kicked a door until he was finally immobilized. The man was arrested for receiving and illegal possession of a firearm and the gun was seized.
