FRASCATI – The season of the women’s excellence of the Frascati Football Club has reached its climax. Mister Graziano De Sanctis’ girls, who placed fourth in group B, have obtained a pass to the play offs and will challenge the leaders of group A, Latina, who among other things will also play in the Cup final on Sunday Italy. The matches are scheduled for 28 April (away from home) and 5 May (at Otto Settembre in Frascati).
“The match will certainly be complicated, but we will play it with our heads held high – says team manager Luigi Pennacchietti who has followed the Frascano “pink” group for three years – We have played some friendlies and the team is in excellent shape. There is the unknown of the clay field on which Latina plays, but we will try to do our best and put our opponents in difficulty.”
Pennacchietti talks about the “genesis” of the current first women’s team of the Frascati Football Club: “The group is made up of a group of girls who have been in Frascati for a long time and who have been joined year after year by other elements from local teams. We now have a roster of 25 girls aged between 16 and 36. There was a clear growth in the group which at the beginning had a bit of difficulty in amalgamating precisely because of this “scissors” in terms of age. Then over time the girls got to know each other and mutual trust grew. In these three years we have gone higher and higher in the standings: last year we missed out on the play-offs by one point, this year we managed to do so.”
The first women’s team of the Football Club Frascati has already met the new owner Giammarco Raparelli: “He came to visit us together with the former owner Claudio Laureti and spoke to the girls, encouraging them to give their best in this final season. We have seen that Raparelli, like Laureti, holds the women’s sector in high regard. On the other hand, we are still the only “pink” football team in the Castelli Romani and we are proud of this.”
