Snow mixed with hail in Gallarate and surrounding areas
Descriptive text here

On Gallarate and the surrounding towns – Cavaria, Cardano, Ferno, Samarate – it snows. Or better: a mixture of hail and small flakes falls from the skydestined to melt once on the ground.

The phenomenon aroused a lot of curiosity on social networks, among doubters, witnesses direct people who post photos and videos. A scenario a little different from the summer hailstorm, but not even real snow. Certainly strange, considering that a few days ago in the plains it reached 33 degrees.

It must be said that if climate changes have made spring milder, historically, actual snow falling was not uncommon in April. (Opening photo from the Gallarate è… group; photo below from the Bacheca Civica Samarate group)

That May snow, in 1945

The chronicles of History with a capital S also remind us of this: for example, newspaper pages remind us that on May 1, 1945 the first American armored vehicles they arrived in Gallarate (already liberated by the Resistance) leaving the imprint of tracks and wheels in the fresh snowas evidenced by a photo of “half-track” armored vehicles taken on the avenue that connects Gallarate, Cedrate and Cassano Magnago.
