The Peba Committee (Plan for the elimination of architectural barriers) has prepared a new information campaign: Sanremo Accessible

The new Sanremo Accessible campaign

The “Accessible Sanremo” information campaign of the Peba Committee was presented this morning at Palazzo Bellevue Municipality of Sanremo. A campaign aimed at the citizens of the City of Flowers and, above all, at its traders. Furthermore, the pano also precedes a section of the institutional site of the specifically dedicated body, where in addition to useful information regarding the elimination of architectural barriers (such as state funds or other) and the guidelines for inclusive trade accessible to all, there is a page dedicated to reports.

Guidelines for traders

  • PARKING LOTS
If you have a private car park, reserve at least one space for disabled people located in the
    near the entrance
  • EXTERNAL SIGNAGE
If the main entrance has barriers, the alternative route must be accessible
clearly marked otherwise it is useless!
  • ENTRANCE
If accessibility requires the positioning of a mobile ramp, a ramp must be provided
    external bell for requesting support
  • DOORS
Sliding ones (better if automated) are preferable to swing ones
and in any case they must be light and easy to handle
  • STEPS
At the entrance or inside they must be clearly marked and using contrasts
    chromatic
  • EMERGENCY EXITS
Be concerned that even disabled people have a way to save themselves in an emergency
  • HOSPITALITY
Your customer reception desk should also include a station
lowered to facilitate communication with those in wheelchairs
  • INTERNAL SERVICES
An unreported service does not exist! The routes to: toilets, elevators, exits
emergency, must be easily identifiable also with respectable signs
the chromatic differences. In large spaces, tactile-plantar signs are essential
  • INFORMATION
Make sure the information is written in large font and with good contrast
chromatic, interesting and functional even for those with vision problems, the use of QR Codes.
  • FURNISHINGS
Make sure that the furnishings do not constitute a danger for the blind or partially sighted
impediment to movement in a wheelchair
  • TABLES
Tables with a central foot are a real functional barrier. Bars and restaurants
they should make adequate tables available to allow the disabled person to
    sit in your own chair
  • PRODUCTS
Basic necessities should be placed at heights that can be reached by one
    person in a wheelchair
  • SERVOSCALA
Complicated to use, slow, with range limitations, they require an operator
    expert…BETTER RAMPS or a lift!
  • TOILET
One is enough, but with great attention to the arrangement of the resulting accessories
    usable by everyone
