Ribbon cutting for the Concrete Days “Development opportunity for Piacenza”

Ribbon cutting for the 2024 edition of the Italian Concrete Days – Italian Concrete Days (Gic), the main European exhibition-conference expressly dedicated to machines, equipment and technologies for the concrete supply chain, prefabrication, but also the demolition of reinforced concrete structures, the transport and recycling of aggregates, continuous flooring and screeds, scheduled until 20 April 2024 in the Piacenza Expo pavilions.

The fifth event dedicated to the GIC was inaugurated by the mayor of Piacenza Katia Tarasconi, Giuseppe Cavalli and Fabio Potestà, director of Mediapoint & Exhibitions, the company organizing the event.

The national and international relevance of the event is also demonstrated by the 62 patronages received from the main trade associations – Italian and foreign – and from institutions, including the Ministry of Sustainable Infrastructure and Mobility, the Air Force, Enac, Anas, the Conference of the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, Municipality of Piacenza and Confindustria Piacenza.

“Many foreign and Italian exhibitors – underlines the mayor of Piacenza, Katia Tarasconi – have arrived in our city to participate in this event, the main one in the sector at European level. This is the demonstration of the value of our fair, beyond the political controversies, and the impact it can have on the territory. I would also like to remind you that Piacenza Expo can count on a much smaller staff compared to Parma, Bologna and Milan”.

THE GIC FAIR

Safety at work, ecological transition and environmental sustainability of the supply chain, investments by the PNRR and safety of public works are some of the issues at the center of the rich schedule of conferences and workshops scheduled during the Piacenza event (the complete list on http://www.gic-expo.it/). Of particular interest is the conference that will open the Fair: “Infrastructures in ports and transport and the relationship with the concrete industry” (room A, 10.30 am), organized in collaboration with Ship2shore. among the speakers, Filippo Lago, director of industrial certifications Rina Genova, Mauro Barbetta, general commercial director
Sistem Venezia and Francesca Arena, Adsp Western Ligurian Sea Genoa and Savona Vado. There is also great anticipation for another event scheduled on the opening day, organized by Rental Blog in collaboration with Assodimi/Assonolo: “The rental of machines and equipment in the concrete supply chain” (room D, hall 1, 2.30 pm). The journalist and chairman international Truck of the year, Gianenrico Griffini, will moderate the meeting “Materials, machines and innovative technologies in the concrete supply chain” (room B, 09.30 am), organized by A&T – Allestimenti e Trasporti and Concrete News . As tradition, on the opening day, the Icta-Italian Concrete Technology Awards event will be held alongside the gic, the award ceremony for Italian companies, entrepreneurs and professionals in the sector who have proven particularly deserving in the last 18 months. The event will be followed by the now indispensable “GIC by Night”, the special evening opening of the exhibition center dedicated to exhibitors and their guests, with refreshments and artistic entertainment.

On April 19th, however, the first edition of the IDRA-Italian Demolition & Recycling Awards is scheduled (another novelty of this fifth edition of the GIC), during which those Italian companies and professionals who have particularly highlighted themselves in the last 18 months in the demolition, decommissioning of industrial plants and structures and recycling of demolition aggregates sectors, recognizing their professionalism, development and strategic role.
