Al Vida on Friday the “National Night of Classical High School”

The National Night of the Classical High School will soon be held, now in its tenth edition, and the flowering courtyards of the Episcopal Seminary of Cremona are ready to welcome the various initiatives proposed by the students and teachers of the Vida High School.

In via Milano 5, in fact, preparations are in full swing for Friday 19 April: the school will open its gates at 6.00 pm to re-propose to the public the founding values of a culture, the classical one, now 3000 years old; ancient, yes, but always young in the way it presents itself, in the way it reaches the soul of man, which has not changed at all over the centuries.

After the precious contributions of the Organizational Committee of the National Night of the Classical High School, the evening will be opened by greetings from the Principal of the institute, Professor Roberta Balzarini. The theme of this tenth edition is communication, a central element for classical studies, so the children resorted to the most direct form of teaching: play. Through completely peculiar quizzes, daring escapes from the fortress of Ilium and obscure responses from the priestess Pizia, visitors will be able to experience first-hand the evergreen charm of a distant yet extremely familiar world, living innovative experiences designed by the students of the Liceo Vida to convey their love for the classics.

However, we will not only think about nourishing the soul, but also the body: a menu of traditional flavors will be available on site, revisited in a literary key.

After dinner, you will be able to witness the imaginative introspections of the Improvis-actori, an inclusive theater group that will propose a unique and creative vision of their “E-motions”.

Precisely in line with the theme of communication, three teachers from Liceo Vida will then be interviewed, professors Marco Baroni, Don Marco D’Agostino and Gianluca Mete: put to the test by questions from their students, they will have to demonstrate what the secret of their profession is, that ancient art of speaking to the future.

The event, however, cannot end without a reflection on being a woman, a fundamental claim in all its facets: the symbol of femininity par excellence, the moon, is at the center of the final speech of the evening, by the professor .ssa Marta Gamba, together with the reading of the hymn “To the moon” by Giacomo Leopardi, in Greek.

In short, it is a multifaceted and multifaceted evening, capable of transmitting and disseminating with new words that profound love for classical literature that unites students and professors, experts and curious, ancient and modern. All that remains, therefore, is to seize the moment (quoting Horace) and fully appreciate a unique artistic celebration of its kind.
