Family, work and young people the theme of the next conference in the Cathedral of San Giorgio in Modica –

Family, work and young people are the three themes chosen for the training conference on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of San Giorgio Martire, main patron saint of the city of Modica.

The event, promoted by the Mother Church and the San Giorgio Bearers Association, will be held on April 19th at 7.30 pm. The mayor Maria Monisteri and the Honorable Ignazio Abbate will also open the conference.

Regarding the topic, Maria Monisteri underlined how “Family, work and young people” are “three key themes of our society”.

Furthermore, during the conference the Ercole di Cafeo, a prestigious Modican award, will be awarded to Salvatore Maltese, known to all as “uzio Turiddu”.

The motivation for the award is “to thank – explains the mayor Maria Monisteri – a true example of life that a son of our city was able to be for himself, for his family, for those who knew him and for the community. A man of great wisdom but above all an expression of true strength of life and who was able to be a model and essence of the truest Modicanità”.
