We gladly receive and publish an appeal from a town in Teramo which represents a problem that will spread like wildfire for many Teramo families. The question is addressed to Teramo Ambiente. Why did diaper collection go from three times a week to twice?
“Dear Giancarlo, Thank you for being the voice of us citizens. I’ll tell you my problem: I have been living with a mother who has been bedridden for 10 years and I won’t tell you the battles waged every day to protect her rights as a very seriously disabled person who is not independent in every situation of daily living, from the simplest to the “clash” with public and private bodies and institutions. It hasn’t always gone well for me, there is total indifference towards very seriously disabled and elderly people without knowing that none of us know how to what future lies ahead. However, I also point out this on behalf of others and other people: on the part of Teramo Ambiente the collection of used nappies took place three times a week months before. Now it is not known why twice a week, despite repeated emails from the party my, Imagine, in the heat, keeping dirty diapers on the balcony for even two or three days is not hygienic and I’m lucky that I have a balcony. There are also those who don’t have a balcony and have to keep them inside the house, so I think it’s a battle of civilization to restore that extra day, it seems foolish, but foolish it is not, for those who have such problems. We are making this disservice known with the hope that someone will listen and be able to take action in view of the summer.”
