At Palermo the watchword is ‘ambition’, a desire for affirmation which, according to coach Mignani’s admission, imposes the prohibition on being satisfied with the current ranking. The sixth place of the Sicilians, with 52 points, does not correspond to what the City Football Group owners and the fans were aiming for on the eve of the tournament. It follows the encouragement of coach Mignani, at the helm since April 3rd in place of Corini, “to play a great match in Spezia, guaranteeing maximum commitment and hunger”. The Genoese coach will continue to adopt the 3-5-2 system. In front of goalkeeper Pigliacelli, Diakité will play in the first part of the season at Ternana and the former eagles Lucioni and Ceccaroni (in the photo). Dictating the timing of the maneuver, in the center of the midfield, will be the Frenchman Gomes, supported on the sides by Ranocchia and Di Francesco (in the unprecedented role of midfielder), with Segre and Lund on the outside. In attack there is room for captain Brunori and Mancuso, the latter in a run-off with former eagle Soleri, followed by Macia and Melissano in the winter transfer market. The injured Vasic, Di Mariano Coulibaly (championship finished) and Aurelio will not be in the match. Among the former players of the match are the Rosanero manager Pierfrancesco Visci, who held the role of organizational director in the white club from 2020 to 2023, and the eagle defender Mateju.
