The mayor of Andria announced his discovery, Giovanna Bruno via social media. “Giorgio has been found”, he writes, thanking the “carabinieri, our social services and all those who have been useful in some way during this long day”.

“A hug to the dear, dearest parents. The parents – he adds – how much pain for their children, how many sacrifices. And a hug to you, Giorgio. Take charge of your life, make it the masterpiece it deserves”.

The alarm about the boy’s disappearance was raised on Monday evening when they were looking for him. According to what was leaked, he was spotted on Tuesday near the station in Brindisi. The search network for missing minors had been activated by the prefecture of Brindisi.

The Municipality of Andria had also taken action to find Giorgio, disseminating his personal details to facilitate the search. The mayor, Giovanna Bruno, had published the photo of the boy and an appeal on social media. And now it was the mayor herself who announced the end of the nightmare for the family.
