Anas contract, one billion for the roads of Molise

In the program agreement between the Ministry of Transport and Anas 2021-2025, one billion in investments – between scheduled maintenance and new works – is intended for the roads of Molise.
The agreement was presented yesterday at Palazzo Vitale by the President of the Region Francesco Roberti, by the Councilor for Infrastructure Michele Marone and by the Undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council (with delegation to Cipess) Alessandro Morelli.
«The funds provided for by this agreement confirm the great collaboration of the Molise Region with the central government and with Anas – remarked Roberti – A theme, that of transport, in which the Molise Region is investing and will invest with targeted interventions. In the planning of the development and cohesion funds we have foreseen over one hundred million euros for the so-called secondary roads, in order to connect the provincial roads with the arteries that connect Molise to the Adriatic ridge on one side and the Tyrrhenian ridge on the other”.
Speeding up mobility, both on road and rail, is fundamental – concluded Roberti – to relaunch the economy.
In Molise, summarized undersecretary Morelli (who in the last legislature was deputy minister at MIT), Anas manages a network of 664 kilometres. The one billion investment is divided as follows: 520.47 million for the scheduled maintenance of existing infrastructures and 525.05 million for new works.
«The government intends to invest in maintenance, and therefore improve safety and speed up mobility and, on the other hand, invest in new fundamental works in regions of internal areas that must return to the center of political attention and not Alone. From this point of view – Morelli assured – Molise is at the center of the government’s attention”.
As regards the Bifernina, he added, «there are important investments regarding maintenance, the hope is that through the commitment of the Region, which was the protagonist of the discussions with Anas, and the commitment of Anas, a new Anas compared to a few years ago, our fellow citizens can see the construction sites open but construction sites that are then completed quickly”.
As regards the connection from Termoli to San Vittore, the government has already committed itself to the Rome-Pescara route – again the words of the undersecretary -, therefore «a next objective could undoubtedly be to make investments for an area like the one that concerns Molise, a large motorway section to evaluate the economic developments of territories that absolutely deserve it.”
More precisely, councilor Marone spoke about doubling the Bifernina. There is an interlocution
with the technical mission structure «to complete the design and financing phase of the doubling of the Bifernina, which will proceed in batches. One lot is already ready in terms of design, a link road that bypasses the two viaducts and is now in the environmental impact assessment procedure phase. As soon as this phase is concluded with Anas we will proceed with the executive project and the contracting of the works. Apart from this link road, the Bifernina will be doubled alongside, starting from Termoli up to Isernia”.
Meanwhile, work continues in particular on the Molise 2 viaduct. As for the maintenance of Molise 1, Marone reported the information obtained directly from Anas CEO Aldo Isi. Once the contract with the company that had been awarded the works has been terminated, «within about ten days (…) a new contract will be re-entrusted to a new company, still within the framework agreement, which is proceeding with carrying out the works the renovation of Molise 2 is almost completed, so finally the Molise 1 viaduct will also be able to have maintenance worthy of the name”.
