ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse clinched its first outright ACC regular-season title last weekend. The Orange are 8-0 in league play in 2024. Previously, Syracuse shared the ACC regular-season crown in 2014 and 2023.

The Orange are coming off a 15-6 victory at Clemson. Junior Payton Rowley tied her career high with four goals, while junior Olivia Adamson and grad student Emma Tyrrell had three goals each. The defense once again held strong, limiting its opponent to less than 10 goals for the third-straight game.

TAKING ON THE BEST
Syracuse’s strength of schedule ranks third in the nation. The Orange have faced a team ranked in the top 10 six times this season. That total is the most for any team in the nation. Syracuse is now 4-2 in those contests, which includes ACC wins against Notre Dame and North Carolina. Nine of this week’s top 25, including six of the top 10, as well as one team receiving votes are on Syracuse’s 2024 schedule.

Boston College is coming off a 13-12 overtime loss at Virginia, which snapped the Eagles’ four-game winning streak. Boston College is 6-2 against ACC opponents this season.

Rachel Clark leads the Eagles’ offense. She has 67 points this season on 55 goals and 12 assists. She is one of three players who have scored 40 or more goals this season for Boston College, a group that includes Emma LoPinto (40) and Kayla Martello (46). Mckenna Davis dished out a team-best 49 assists.

Shea Dolce has started all 15 games in goal for Boston College. She has a .464 save percentage and an 8.31 goals-against average.

SERIES HISTORY
Thursday’s game marks the 29th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Boston College. The Orange have won 17 of the previous 28 games between the squads.

The teams played twice last season. The first game took place in the regular-season final, which Boston College won, 17-16. The second meeting was in the national semifinals in Cary, NC

A close game throughout, both teams had 3-0 scoring runs in the first half, which ended in a 4-4 tie.
