“Spring in bloom” in Busto Arsizio: a day dedicated to pollinators

Busto Arsizio, 19 April 2024 – The city of Busto Arsizio is preparing to welcome spring with the “Spring in Bloom” event, which will be held on Saturday 20 April in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II.

The initiative, promoted by the Istituto Comprensivo Galilei and the Green School network of the province of Varese, aims to raise awareness in the community about the importance of biodiversity and the crucial role of pollinators in the ecosystem.

A day of education and fun

From 10am to 6pm, the square will host workshops, games and exhibitions, designed to illustrate the significant contribution of pollinators, such as bees, to protecting the environment. “The disappearance of pollinators would have disastrous consequences for biodiversity and natural balance, directly threatening our survival,” explains Camilla Evarchi, teacher and coordinator of the event.

Collaborations for a sustainable future

The event sees the participation of numerous local partners including the “Plastic Free” Association, the Varesini Beekeepers, and Jerry Alotta’s Love farm. These collaborations reinforce the message of environmental responsibility and actively promote pollinator protection.

Focus on Green Schools

“Spring in bloom” also represents an opportunity to present the Green School network, a project involving various comprehensive schools in the province of Varese, aimed at promoting educational initiatives to train citizens who are aware and committed to the environment. “This project allows us to unite school forces in the fight for a greener future,” adds Evarchi.

An educational experience for the youngest

The event is designed to educate children and young people about respecting pollinating insects, dispelling myths and fears through interactive activities. “Through games and demonstrations, we hope to transform fear into fascination, increasing awareness and proactive action towards the protection of pollinators,” concludes teacher Evarchi.

The “Spring in Bloom” event in Busto Arsizio is not just a moment of celebration, but an important reminder of the commitment necessary to preserve our planet, starting from small, but fundamental, local actions.

The Local Police of Parabiago has launched an important traffic education project dedicated to the youngest children in the city’s nursery schools.
