He dies along the tracks between Cosenza and Rogliano, FdC: “every attempt to avoid the accident was in vain”

COSENZA – “Yesterday afternoon, for reasons to be ascertained, the eighty-three year old PM lost his life in the locality of Bosco di Rovito, while he was walking along the track of the railway line of the Calabria Railways, at the moment in which the train headed for Rogliano arrived, departing from Cosenza at 4.00 pm. Every attempt to avoid the accident was in vain and unfortunately the elderly man lost his life in the impact with the train.” Ferrovie della Calabria wrote it in a note.

The safety measures implemented by the team were of no avail employees of Ferrovie della Calabria in service that, still in shock, they stopped the train realizing, once they got off, the misfortune. The legal investigations were immediately started by the judicial authorities, which will be followed by those of the Company to ascertain the dynamics of the accident. At this moment, however, thehuman pain for the victim of this tragic fatality and the feeling of closeness of the company’s top management and all FdC staff, for P. M’s family and friends”.
