Excellent match for the 2012 group in the round of 16 of the Piedmont Under 13 Cup; against the more athletic boys from Avigliana the Cuneo team played on equal terms until the last possession. At half-time the Sportarea scoreboard showed +11 (34-23) thanks to a second quarter of great defensive intensity. In the second half the visiting team imposes its physicality and recovers in the score up to the final +1. “The staff is very proud of this group and the improvements. Now we will go to Avigliana with a -1 to try to recover, to try to get to the quarter-finals”, these are the words of coach Lelli.

Beautiful and intense match between Cuneo and Collegno in Under 13 Gold; a bit of regret for the result because Cuneo was almost always in the lead and only gave in in the last quarter. In the first quarter Cuneo leads the match, while in the second period Collegno catches up in the score: at half-time the scoreboard reads 26 all with both teams fighting for every ball. Upon leaving the locker room Cuneo put the arrow on the score: +5 in the 30th minute with a partial of 16-11. In the fourth period Collegno doesn’t give up, on the contrary he relaunches and with a mini-half he closes the match at +2 (48-50). Congratulations to both teams because they offered great basketball and a lot of intensity.

1st Regional Men’s Division – 2nd day of return – Top Phase

Bikuadro Delfini Basket – Agrimontana Granda College Cuneo 53-67 (8-38; 26-40; 42-52)

Agrimontana Granda College Cuneo: Capelli, Bruschetta, Maccario, Cani, Rosso, Comotti, Manfredi, Tamagno, Saladini, Bodino, Castellino.

Coaches: Lelli – Caroni.

The Agrimontana men’s Serie D returns to victory after a difficult period, against the Delfini di Carmagnola. The guests started off very strong thanks to a tough defense and a great offensive game. The Cuneo team leaves little space for the Carmagnolese attack, which struggles to find the way to the basket. Thus the first period ends with a sensational 8-38 for the guests. The second quarter is a completely different story, which sees the young people from Cuneo lower their guard and the expert Delfini recover after the initial shock. This time it is Carmagnola who raises the shutters in defense, conceding only two points to the guests and leading a good attack; 18-2 is the partial in favor of the locals. Upon returning from the locker rooms, fatigue and fouls are felt on both sides, leading to two quarters in which the Dolphins try to attack and the Cuneo players seem lost; Carmagnola takes advantage of this and recovers another 4 points. In the last quarter the match is full of errors, but the Cuneo team prevails, ending the match with a final score of 11-15 in their favor which leads to the final result of 53-67. “We worked well in the gym all week – comments Mattia Castellino -. We wanted to redeem ourselves after the last last second defeats and we played a great game.”
