“FEel The History – Ferrara Capital of the Renaissance: spaces, stories, monuments”

TOURISM – The results of the 2023 local promotion program presented. A new strategic face for the promotion of the city and the territory

Ferrara, 04/17/2024. The results of the actions carried out as part of the Destinazione Romagna funding relating to the 2023 Local Promotion Tourism Program were presented this morning at a press conference held in the Arengo room of the municipal residence of Ferrara. “FEel The History – Ferrara Capital of the Renaissance: spaces, stories, monuments”.

The Councilor for Tourism Matteo Fornasini and Patrizia Guidi, president of Po Delta Tourism and Co.ge.tur, two of the companies in the temporary business network – together with Dinamica Media, Studio Borsetti and Elite Island – spoke at the meeting with journalists. – which from September 2022 supports the Administration in the INFERRARA tourism promotion and marketing project.

The project, carried out under the direction of the Municipality’s Tourism Office and with the technical assistance of Po Delta Tourism and Dinamica Media for tourism planning and graphic design, focused on the design of new information materials for tourists and sector operators . Furthermore, the entire coordinated image of the MyFE Card, the city’s tourist card, has been revised, on which the Department together with the RTI is developing new actions aimed at promoting not only its use by tourists, but also its membership by the city’s commercial activities.

“The objective was to position Ferrara with better and greater prominence within the Romagna Tourist Destination, integrating our image with that of the Destination itself, in line with the Region’s tourism marketing plan – states theCouncilor Fornasini -.

To this end we deemed it necessary to give a fresher and more current face to our tourism promotion materials. Brochures, booklets and other useful information materials in which the different souls of our city find space, which we have continuously promoted in recent years, but also the province, because we are convinced that the vast area is an incredible strong point for our tourism and for the offer to be offered to visitors”.

The design and creation of the contents was guided by a precise tourism strategy, which established objectives for which the new materials are functional.

“All the products aim to enhance the different peculiarities that characterize Ferrara and the tourist product it expresses. Spaces, monuments and elements have been highlighted that make it one of the symbolic cities of Renaissance culture, but also the large green spaces, the river and in general its slow soul, food and wine and events.

An approach that can also give tourists interesting ideas for visiting the city at different times and on several occasions, favoring deseasonalization and a longer stay in the city, which can also be seen as a basis for discovering the province” – He says Patrizia Guidi -.

“With the aim of enhancing tourism planning, committed to highlighting the peculiarities of the territory, the graphic concept wanted to translate the latter by incorporating them into a sort of illustrated notebook based on the different products created.

In the tear-off map and the bike map, by their nature orientation tools, the graphic sign is functional above all to provide precise reference points with respect to the proposed itineraries.

In the leaflet dedicated to the city and province, the graphic sign contributes to the creation of different reading levels suitable for different target audiences, from more or less attentive visitors to tour operators at the fair, but also to families.

Furthermore, the various suggestions illustrated – from city points of interest to provincial ones, passing through events and gastronomy – enrich and at the same time lighten the substantial textual part, creating a rich imagery of the territory.”

THE MATERIALS PRODUCED
Map of the city of Ferrara with indication of tourist routes – single Italian/English version
The city map has been designed to be a practical, informative and aesthetically pleasing tool, a guide that allows you to efficiently plan visits to various places of interest, optimizing the overall tourist experience.

A tool that makes orientation within the city simple for tourists, guiding them, thanks to the signposted itineraries, through culturally rich and different, perhaps even less well-known, experiences.
In-depth leaflet on the city of Ferrara and the points of interest in the province
5 versions in 5 languages (Italian, English, French, Spanish, German).

A useful tool for deepening your knowledge of the city but also of the area that surrounds it, with an indication of the main points of artistic, cultural and naturalistic interest in the province. An overall vision that allows us to highlight the variety and uniqueness of the experiences offered by the city and the provincial territory, showing how these are part of a single large tourist “ecosystem”.

Handlebar bike map dedicated to the Historic Walls cycling route
2 versions: Italian and English
The Historic Walls, the place par excellence for slow city tourism and also suitable for less experienced cyclists, provide an ideal starting point for promoting sustainable tourism and the active exploration of the city’s cultural and natural heritage by bicycle. The map facilitates the orientation and cultural enrichment of the cycle tourist, all while ensuring ease of reading, with a design that adapts to the handlebars of the bicycle for practical consultation during the route.

MyFE Card, new graphics and promotional material
The design of the new Myfe Card was designed with a view to modernizing the image of the existing card, following the guidelines of Destinazione Turistica Romagna.

The choice to keep a paper card is driven by the desire to leave the tourist with a small souvenir of his stay in Ferrara, characterized by a unique and Ferrara pattern.

Even the promotional postcards dedicated to tourists and traders are characterized by different “Ferrarese” graphic patterns, which recall the four main thematic areas of tourist interest: art and culture, slow tourism, food and wine and events.

A practical format to promote the purchase of the card, but also the participation in the project by the city’s commercial establishments.

All promotional materials will be distributed at the Ferrara IAT starting from the next few days, and can be downloaded from the download sections of ferrarainfo.com and inferrara.it
