“This company has joined the anti-racket pact with the police” will be the sign that, from today, the construction companies in the province of Caserta will be able to post on their construction sites, adhering to the agreement signed yesterday at Chamber of Commerce by the president Tommaso De Simone, by the president of the association anti-racketeeringSOS Enterprise” Caserta Maurizio Pollini and the regional president “SOS Impresa – Network for the legality of Campania” Luigi Cuomo. «An initiative which – says De Simone – also from an image point of view, will characterize this area which sees companies ready to report should criminal actions occur». At the meeting table the prefect Giuseppe Castaldo who, concluding a multi-voiced debate, reiterated: «Full willingness to pay attention to this phenomenon, in continuity with the provincial observatory inaugurated a few days ago and the agreements signed with the Chamber of Commerce and universities on this very topic. But the need for entrepreneurs to report to access solidarity funds and to initiate increasingly quicker proceedings remains significant.”

And as evidence of how much the courage to report is nourished by a safety net, the intervention of Domenico Communara, the entrepreneur who with his partner Sossio Giordano has been managing a non-residential construction company for 30 years. «I was young when I ran away to Tuscany out of fear – he said – but five years ago I decided to return home, finding the courage to start a business in the Aversa countryside after seeing first-hand what this association does for entrepreneurs like me. At my side is Anna Ferrara, regional manager of the Antiracket Pact which I hope many entrepreneurs will join.”

In the audience was the mayor of Cesa, Enzo Guida, the first in the province to have joined the pact which, at least in intent, has around ten municipalities interested in following it, including Caserta. «Almost all the municipalities in the Neapolitan area have joined the pact – Cuomo said – but before following up on the requests received from the Caserta municipalities we wanted to give this initiative the institutional depth it deserves, under the aegis of the Prefecture and law enforcement ». But there is a gap to be filled in Caserta, between the listening requests that arrive at the SOS Impresa desk and those that then result in complaints. «The brake is the family or the surrounding society – explained the psychologist and vice-president of “SOS Impresa” Caserta Antonella Schiavone – because there is trust in the institutions, but the conviction to distance oneself from legacies is lacking».

And that is the lever on which to work, underlined the prefect Giuseppe Castaldo because, as underlined by the police commissioner Andrea Grassi: «Security is a shared good, and this pact is the plastic example that concretizes the collaboration between institutions and private individuals ». And the commander of the Carabinieri, Colonel Manuel Scarso, added: «The invitation remains to take an open stand in favor of justice and against crime, a need that is particularly felt in this area». Because complaints remain few, confirms the commander of the Guardia di Finanza, Colonel Nicola Sportelli: «From an entrepreneurial point of view, Caserta is a growing province, with an increase in female entrepreneurship. And we will always be close to all healthy companies, supporting them especially in this period of important access to Pnrr funds”. And while from today the pact will follow its path among the municipalities of Terra di Lavoro, President Pollini announces: «We are already imagining a further pact that will involve other types of activities at risk, in continuity of the two anti-usury memoranda of understanding and anti-racket with the municipality of Aversa in 2020 and with the municipality of Cesa in 2022. And we remain listening, as the only association present in the Caritas of Aversa, where lawyers and psychologists respond to many requests for help, but few turn into complaint”.
