The hashtag remained trending for a long time and the idea of ​​removing the “follow” from the club’s official accounts was born on social media. The official position of the Curva Sud fueled the storm with the invitation to immediately relaunch the team’s ambitions. Furthermore, the idea that the discontent of the organized fans would lead to some form of protest in the next matches at San Siro, starting from Sunday against Genoa. So the Lopetegui to Milan hypothesis has already definitively failed.

The former Spain coach was the chosen one: Cardinale was ready to hire him. What convinced the owners and management was Lopetegui’s CV: international experience in top clubs, the ability to cultivate the talent of young people to the point of launching them into big football. But also a professional and human style in line with the ideal profile outlined by the club. The first contacts date back to last December, after the Rossoneri draw at Salernitana.

Milan fans want to try everything to prevent Lopetegui from sitting on the Milan bench. After starting the hashtag Nopetegui , the petition against his possible arrival on the Rossoneri bench also arrives. On Change.org you can in fact “sign” against the decision of the Rossoneri management. The fans gave visibility to the initiative through Twitter:

On the Change.org website, the petition collected almost 400 signatures in less than an hour. The initial goal is to reach 500 signatures. On the site it says:

“Milan is a glorious team that doesn’t deserve a coach like Lopetegui. We don’t want him to be on the Rossoneri bench in any way. […]
Lopetegui’s arrival could threaten this historical legacy, considering his past as a coach. […]
We want to protect Milan’s legacy and ensure that it is led by a coach worthy of its glorious history. We therefore ask the club management to keep Lopetegui away from our beloved Rossoneri bench“.

Lopetegui is the chosen one but the fans rise up: they want Conte

The chosen one for the Milan bench seems to be Julen Lopetegui. The Spanish coach has moved ahead of Conte in the last few hours. Cardinal would have already given his approval. The Rossoneri environment, however, does not agree. The protest has already mounted on social media, the fans are not convinced of Lopetegui and would like to see a leader like Conte on the bench. As reiterated several times, the Apulian coach is also a target for Napoli.

The Gazzetta also reiterated it this morning: “Julen Lopetegui is the first candidate to be AC ​​Milan’s coach for 2024-25. Furthermore, at this moment he is the chosen one, the great favourite“.

The fans are not happy with the management’s choice and are hoping for a coup from Ibrahimovic. In the meantime, the hashtag Nopetegui , a mix between “no” and “Lopetegui”, has gone viral on social media.
