The motorbike travels along Circonvallazione Oriani, in the stretch after Porta Nuova in the direction of Porta Palio in Verona. It’s just after 7.30pm. Suddenly, the centaur driving, a 23 year old from Verona, loses control of the two-wheeler and crashes into one of the plane trees that line the avenue. Intervened with an ambulance with nurses and a medical vehicle, the Suem 118 staff tried to resuscitate for a long time the young centaur lying on the ground in the middle of the two lanes, but in vain, having to finally decree his death.
The twelfth victim
A new tragedy on the streets of Verona, which are once again stained with blood: it is the twelfth cross this year, the first in the capital municipality. And once again the victim is a motorcyclist, and a very young one at that. Local police officers will now clarify the causes and dynamics of the fatality. who intervened on site shortly before 8pm, at the end of the Vinitaly outflow, with five patrols to carry out surveys and manage the road system, closing the internal ring road and alerting the public prosecutor on duty of the incident. According to an initial reconstruction by the Local, the young motorcyclist was traveling on his Honda, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed first into the pavement and then into a plane tree. He would therefore have done everything alone. At the moment, in fact, investigators are not aware of any other vehicles involved in the accident.

As mentioned, the tragedy also had an immediate impact on the city’s roads, already put to the test in recent days by the holding of Vinitaly at the fair: the road, which has been one-way since the works for the unification of the underpass of via Città di Nimes began, has in fact been closed to traffic, the local police officers had to prepare road diversions also allowing vehicles to pass through on bus lanes.
The other tragedies
Circonvallazione Oriani was also fatal seven months ago for the 27-year-old of Albanian origin Qevani Redon. Last September 13th, he too was riding a two-wheeler, a Yamaha R6, when, traveling in the direction of home, to the Stadium, he skidded at full speed and crashed into one of the trees on the side of the road. The tragic spill occurred just before 10pm, on Via Città di Nimes and Porta Palio, already a critical area for traffic, given that work was already underway for the construction of the trolleybus.
