The ‘Binario1’ project takes school students from Bologna to Genoa by train to raise awareness against violence against women

BOLOGNA – On the train from Bologna to Genoa against violence against women. The passengers are students of five classes, who at the end of the journey will give life to artistic and theatrical performances. It is the ‘Binario 1-traveling against violence’ project, born from an idea of ​​the Ugl railway workers in collaboration with Caracò, DoppiaDifesa, Edela and Solares. The initiative, entitled ‘Piazzale Ovest’ for the current school year, was presented in Bologna on February 1st and in Parma on the 6th of the same month. The journey, aboard a dedicated Rock train, is scheduled for next Friday, April 19th, departing at 7.50 from Bologna and stopping in Modena, Reggio Emilia, Parma and Piacenza, until arriving in Genoa, where the students’ performances are awaited in front of the Palazzo Ducale.

“RAISE AWARENESS OF THE PHENOMENON AND ITS DEVASTATING EFFECTS”

The ‘Binario 1’ project, which has the support of the Bologna and Parma Interports, will also be replicated next year (with the title of ‘Piazzale Est’), so that it becomes a “lasting” initiative to raise awareness “on the issue of violence on women and its devastating effects, not only on the direct victims, but also on their loved ones.” According to the Bologna Interport, “it is important to underline the importance of collaboration between different entities to combat violence against women. The project requires continuous financial support to be able to concentrate solely on the path undertaken. This represents a positive example of how art, culture and education can come together to raise awareness of such an important issue.”
