The 5th edition of the EcoRun Varese arrives. Micalizzi: “Many new features planned” – VIDEO

Presented this morning, Tuesday 16 April, at the Wedding Hall of the Municipality of Varese, the fifth edition of the EcoRun Varesethe foot race that is part of the ecology and sport festival that makes the Garden City increasingly green.

The event, scheduled for Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April, will see connected numerous initiativesranging from a “Varese Futuro” technical table on mobility and green spaces, to the reuse market and visit to historical activities/Hidden Varese, to the FIAB Varese Ciclocittà bicycle tour, passing through the exhibition of electric vehicles signed Varese Green Motorsthe basketball tournament under the aegis of We Are Basketball and volleyball for the U12 and U13 categories.

All these events enclosed in the center of the Garden City, for a day that will block the traffic of Varese center but will see a more rich and green that never.

EcoRun Varese which this year also aims to support, with two charity, Gulliver Center and CAOS Associationnot only that, because on Sunday 21 April the Lions Daywith a stand that will allow free prevention screening.

Speaking of competitions, there will be the usual 4 competitions: 2 competitive and 2 not. The two competitive ones will be there Half Marathon and Tenthe first long one 21kmthe second 10.

While the two non-competitive ones will be long 10 and 5 kilometersthus allowing all enthusiasts to participate.

Among the initiatives connected to EcoRun, the Varese Green Motorsan event that puts sustainable mobility at the center of attention, organized by our publishing house Sunrise Media and which will bring one to the center of Varese twenty of hybrid and electric vehicles from dealerships Autotorino with Jeep and Hyundai, Novauto Group with Toyota and Lexus, Nippo Motors with Honda, Castiglioni with Citroen and Peugeot, Wendecar with Audi, Belforte90 with Cupra e Duegi Car with Aixam.

The city’s Sports Councilor did the honors, Stefano Malerba who opened the press conference like this: “We present another edition of the EcoRun which is becoming an important event for the city of Varese. We move from a weekend of professionals with the first stage of the rowing World Cup, to a wonderful Saturday morning at the arena for the final of the Varese School Cup to an event that attracts many citizens to practice sports and do it in an increasingly green context that It gives prestige to our city“.

Fundamental support for the realization of the event comes from the Chamber of Commerce, represented by Antonio Franzi: “It is really important for our territory to have this range of opportunities connected to the world of sport. EcoRun is a demonstration of how important sport is for Varese, bringing together sporting, ecological and social aspects. The Chamber of Commerce will make some rooms available to ensure that this event is carried out in the best possible way“.

Then, the comment from the president of EcoRun Varese was inevitable, Giuseppe Micalizzi: “We are thrilled to present this fifth edition of the foot race which brings together athletes and non-athletes in an absolutely green context, for two days dedicated to ecology and feeling good together in sport. We have many activities connected to the race this year, we obviously trust in the clemency of the weather which will grant us two days of sunshine but above all in the benevolence of the citizens of Varese, who will see the streets of the center closed for a few hours, yes, but who will be able to come and feet to discover all the initiatives connected to our race“.
