Museums and historical sites of Tuscia: 6.5 million arriving

Almost six and a half million euros are arriving for Tuscia for museums, historic buildings and archaeological sites. The Ministry of Culture has approved the Three-Year Plan for Public Works 2024/26.

This was made known by the president of the Lazio Region Francesco Rocca, who applauds the initiative which will bring a total of 38 million euros for 133 projects in the sectors of fine arts and landscape, museums, archaeology, libraries and archives throughout the region.

Here is the list of interventions concerning the Viterbo area: Carbognano – 600 thousand euros for the restoration of Giulia Farnese’s Castle; Civita Castellana – 350 thousand euros for the restoration of the Cosmatesque floor; Civita Castellana – 400 thousand euros for the Archaeological Museum of Agro Falisco and reopening of the Mastio to the public; Canino – 300 thousand euros for the Archaeological Museum of Vulci and redevelopment of the Badia Castle with new visit routes; Civita Castellana – 750 thousand euros for the Archaeological Museum of Agro Falisco and Forte San Gallo, various restorations; Viterbo – 600 thousand euros for the National Etruscan Museum of Rocca Albornoz, extraordinary maintenance and refurbishment of systems; Tuscania – 515 thousand euros for the National Archaeological Museum, adaptation and safety of the systems; Caprarola – 734,406.07 euros for Palazzo Farnese, consolidation and stabilization on the Via San Rocco side; Oriolo Romano – 700 thousand euros for Palazzo Artieri, restoration and extraordinary maintenance of the guesthouse and associated areas; Bassano Romano – 270,061.33 euros for Villa Giustiniani, various restorations of the rooms; Bolsena – 25 thousand euros for the Archaeological Area of ​​the Gran Carro, making the area safe; Tarquinia – 25,822 euros for various archaeological areas, safety measures, archaeological excavations and recovery of Etruscan tombs; Various municipalities – 200 thousand euros for greenery maintenance between Tarquinia, Bolsena, Tuscania, Viterbo (Ferento) and Graffignano; Viterbo – 300 thousand euros for Ferento, recovery and use of the Arptha tomb; Viterbo – 300 thousand euros for the Ferento spa area, recovery and valorization of the Domus; Bomarzo – 300 thousand euros for the Necropolis of Trocchi, made safe.

«This is a sign of great attention on the part of the Government towards the natural, landscape and cultural beauties of our region – commented governor Rocca – Thanks to these allocations it will be possible, in fact, to carry out interventions of absolute importance for ordinary maintenance and extraordinary, the restoration, recovery and valorisation of areas of exceptional cultural value for Lazio”.
