Schifani “Lo Stagnone is a candidate to be a training area for sailing athletes”*

After the success of the Hansa 303 regatta, organized by the Italian Naval League and which involved dozens of Paralympic athletes from all over Italy for the national championship, the President of the Region Renato Schifani and the group leader of Forza Italia at the ARS Stefano Pellegrino are nominating the structure of the Lega Navale allo Stagnone to become a sailing training centre.

“This weekend – say the two Forza Italia exponents – was a splendid event that not only united the values of sport, inclusion and healthy competitive spirit, but also demonstrated the effectiveness of collaboration between the public and private, between institutions and sports bodies with a strong focus on social issues.
The presence of dozens of athletes and many teams showed the quality of the organization and the natural vocation of this area to host sporting activities of this type.”
It is precisely the conformation of the Stagnone, with its geographical position and shallow waters, which together with the proximity of the airports of Trapani and Palermo makes this area perfect for hosting a sailing training and training center serving national teams and international. A project that could only exploit the structure and skills of the Naval League and on which we intend to work, in synergy with local institutions and with those who work with passion and competence in that area.”
