The seven Emilia Romagna companies (Consorzio Pescatori di Goro, FINITTICA di Goro, EFELLE PESCA di Bosco Mesola, REAMAR di Mesola, Mariscadoras srl di Rimini, Specialisti del vivo di Riccione and Ca< p>

The Emilia-Romagna Region has organised, distributed over the three days, various entertainment activities at the regional stand; in particular a focus on the circular economy in the fishing sector and the possibility of reusing processing waste in connection with Massimo Bellavista head of LegaCoop fishing Emilia-Romagna, e Carlotta Santolini, researcher at the CNR of Como; an in-depth focus on the development of oyster farming in connection with Vadis Paesanti, regional manager of Confcooperative Pesca and Edoardo Turolla, researcher at the DELTA Institute of Applied Ecology research center in Ferrara; finally, a focus on the Blue economy and in particular on the Region’s leading role in the Partnerships of the Maritime Sustainable Blue Bioeconomy – MAREBbE – intends to capitalize on the results achieved at a regional and international level, coming from previous regional experiences and knowledge, as well as from projects financed by EU on different topics related to blue sectors, to together build a more competitive, innovative and sustainable blue maritime bioeconomy. The partnership decided to focus on four specific themes, crossing the priorities defined in the S3 strategies. In addition to Emilia-Romagna, 3 other Italian regions (Puglia and Campania and Lazio), 2 Greek (Crete and Attica), 3 Spanish (Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Andalusia), 2 Portuguese (Alentejo, Norte), 1 Croatian (Adriatic Croatia), and finally Albania, Slovenia, Kosovo, Skopski and Cyprus:

Furthermore, the Region animated the space of Piazza Italia with two talk shows, hosted by the Rai journalist, Marco Gallo of Linea Blu, the first dedicated to the politics and value of quality, provenance and sustainability brands and to the presentation of the order of the Casa Matha of Ravenna which constitutes, with an interrupted thousand-year history, the oldest fishing guild in the world (its establishment in fact dates back to just before 943); and in the second he will talk about the Emilia Romagna ‘District’ of companies that produce machinery to support fishing and aquaculture for the processing and marketing of fish products as well as the European LIFEEL project for the protection of eel along the PO river basin which sees Emilia-Romagna committed to the construction of climbing ladders that allow the species to overcome the obstacles posed by Man and which today prevent the ascent to the most distant waters of Lake Maggiore

The creation of the region’s space sees the support of the Parmigiano-Reggiano Consortium, the Modena Traditional Vinegar Consortium and the Pedrini winery of Bertinoro (Forlì-Cesena), which have made their products available to welcome guests who will participate in the initiatives of the Emilia-Romagna stand.

The stand was visited by various authorities including the Minister of Agriculture, Francesco Lollobrigida who underlined the great closeness to the shellfish farming operators affected by the emergency created by the enormous proliferation of Blue Crab and who said he was confident that with the help of the region and the state it will be possible to overcome the moment of waiting to find the most appropriate solution to the resumption of activity.
