Nissan Formula E, the press release on the Misano test

Nissan Formula E Team achieved the first victory of the era Gen3 thanks to Oliver Rowlandwhich took first place Misano E-PrixWhile Sacha Fenestraz he scored points in both races of the double event. Started fifth in Saturday’s race at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, Rowland delivered an excellent performance, maintaining a high pace and demonstrating great awareness. Rowland, who crossed the finish line in second place, became the official winner of the race after the disqualification of another driver.

Excellent performance for the British driver also in Sunday’s race. Starting from 10th place on the grid, Rowland climbed positions to take the lead, only to have to stop on the last lap with his car running out of energy. Sacha Fenestraz had a positive weekend in car number 23. The French-Argentinian driver fought hard to take ninth position in Saturday’s race and take home points. Then on Sunday, starting 13th, Fenestraz held his own against a very tough group, once again managing to achieve a solid haul with a fifth position.

In addition to the two races, the weekend featured an FP0 session, designed to allow young drivers to gain experience with the Formula E machines. The team’s reserve driver and simulator, Caio Colletgot his first taste of Nissan e-4ORCE 04 during the session, helping the team prepare for the weekend.

The results obtained in Italy see Rowland remain third in the Drivers’ Championship, nine points behind the two leaders, and the Nissan Formula E Team in fourth position in the Teams’ Championship with 100 points. Formula E now moves to Monte Carlo for the Monaco E-Prixwhich will take place on April 27.

Tommaso Volpe, General Manager Nissan Formula E and Managing Director Nissan Formula E Team

“Overall, it was a very positive weekend for us. Oli performed impressively yesterday, taking the official race victory, his first since Nissan took full control of the team. Today was obviously frustrating: a very small mistake cost us a potential fifth consecutive podium which, in my opinion, was definitely within reach today. However, he drove very well once again, so I apologize to him for that.”

“As for Sacha, he went very strong this weekend, continuing to follow a positive trend. After yesterday’s points, he improved further, made his way through the pack and put together an excellent race. He made some great moves and fully deserved his top five finish. We have improved a lot from a strategy point of view, so at the moment we feel good and we will continue to work to achieve excellent results in Monaco in two weeks.”

Oliver Rowland, driver of the Nissan Formula E Team

“Overall we have to be satisfied with our performances this weekend, despite the frustrating finish to Sunday’s race. We are in incredible shape, scoring 26 points in Misano is a very positive result. Our speed was excellent and the team got the strategy right in both races, so we will try to continue like this in the next ones too. Unfortunately, on Sunday we had a mix-up at the start which caused a problem with the rev counter which meant that it calculated one lap less to go than in reality. We were so close to another win, but we are proud of what we achieved here and will continue to fight hard.”

Sacha Fenestraz, driver of the Nissan Formula E Team

“Being in the points in both races this weekend is a step forward for me. In this type of competition, the important thing is to be in the right position at the right time to take advantage. I learned a lot from Oli and the experience I gained. Today, after falling back in the early stages of the race, I fought to get into the top 10. We are satisfied with fifth place, it is a good haul of points after the difficult previous races. We are growing at every event, we will continue to work to remain strong in Monaco too.”

Caio Collet, reserve driver and simulator, Nissan Formula E Team

“I was very happy to drive the Nissan e-4ORCE 04 for the first time in free practice. Being a new track for the team, it was important for me to help collect data and follow the plan we had in mind, which we did correctly. It was a great experience and I’m happy to have helped the team. I can’t wait to get back in the car soon!”
