Casale Monferrato is preparing to become the scene of an event full of meaning: a flash mob for peace, organized by Conference of Democrats of the province of Alessandria. The appointment is for Saturday 20 April at 4pm, on the steps of the Municipal Theatre, in the beating heart of Piazza Castello.
A Silence That Speaks
The demonstration will begin with a touching moment of silence, a silence that shouts to the whole world the need for a “CEASEFIRE”. For 20-25 minutes, participants will become spokespersons for a peaceful message, displaying signs and waving peace flags, in a symbolic but powerful gesture that hopes to cross all borders.
The Words of History for the Present
After the silence, the voice of history will be heard: an excerpt from Aristophanes’ “Lysistrata” will be read, an ancient work that still resonates today with its appeal to reject violence and search for a peaceful solution to conflicts. This literary choice is not random, but a bridge between the past and today’s need for peace.
A Community That Responds
All local associations, members of the CASALE DAVVERO coalition and the DEMOCRATICS of the province of Alessandria are called to join the event, demonstrating that the Casale Monferrato community stands with anyone who aspires to global peace and harmony.
A Plan B in case of bad weather
The desire to demonstrate for peace will not be stopped by weather conditions: in case of rain, the flash mob will move to Piazza Mazzini, protected under the Portici Lunghi.
The Conference of Democratic Women, the Democratic Party and the Young Democrats of Casale Monferrato invite everyone to participate in this moment of communion and reflection, to send a strong and clear message from the heart of Piedmont: peace is the only path for the future.
