Angelina Mango she is the Italian artist who will represent our country at theEurovision 2024. Born on 10 April 2001 in Maratea, in Basilicata but from Lagonegrese origins, she is the daughter of famous Italian singers and songwriters Pine Mango And Laura Valente, former frontwoman of Matia Bazar from 1990 to 1998. Following her family’s cultural imprint, Angelina and her brother grew up with a musical education. During her childhood, she was heavily exposed to and influenced by Aretha Franklin, Nirvana hey Rolling Stones. She started her activity as a singer in 2016 in Milan, when she formed a band with her brother. She released her first single “Everything is fine” in 2020, anticipating the release of his first LP “Studio flat”. In 2021 you participated in Sanremo Giovani, but failed to reach the final.
The real turning point came in November 2022, when he participated in the talent show Friends of Maria De Filippi. Here she achieved second place overall, a placement which guaranteed her numerous fruitful collaborations with many popular artists, and she also released many singles and EPs. One of these, “Will to live”debuted in second place in the FIMI albums list (the official ranking of the best-selling albums in Italy), obtaining a gold record.
Angelina Mango, however, participates in Eurovision thanks to the extraordinary triumph at 74th edition of Sanremo Festival with “Boredom”winning the final evening and obtaining two different prizes: the prize from the Lucio Dalla press room and the Giancarlo Bigazzi award for best composition, awarded by the orchestra.
Investigating the moods of pre-Eurovision users, Angelina appears among the favorites at the event, thanks to her innate energy and a performance – as expected – very choreographic and full of memorable ideas.
