Randonnée Selvaggia: 200 kilometers between Lombardy, Valsesia, Lake Orta and Alto Vergante

After having hosted cycling events of international importance in the past, the Roberto Battaglia velodrome in Garolfo bust is preparing to host Thursday 25 AprilLiberation Day, the departure and arrival of Selvaggia Randonnée, 200 kilometers between north-western Lombardy, the ValsesiaThe Lake Orta and the Alto Vergante. Now in its eighth edition, the test also includes a shortened distance of 100 kilometers. The “long” route, which winds largely through Piedmont (only the first 24 kilometers and the last 34 are in Lombardy) presents many altimetric difficulties (total difference in altitude of 1,932 metres), including the Cremosina crossing (m. 553) and the challenging climb of Coiromonte (m. 796). The alternative itinerary is much easier, with a difference in altitude limited to 463 metres. Single departure from 8am to 9am from the Battaglia velodrome, the track where Giuseppe Saronni also trained when he was very young.

Online registrations (15 euros) close on Saturday 23rd (www.audaxitalia.it) but it is also possible to register on site (20 euros) on the day of the event.
