In the night between Sunday and Monday in Itri the Carabinieri of the local station arrested a man, burdened by numerous criminal records for illegal possession of a clandestine weapon and linked to criminal circles.
The man was noticed by staff on patrol duty while he was standing inside a private courtyard area; at the sight of the soldiers operating he tried to hide behind an olive tree. An attitude that attracted the Carabinieri who stopped and identified the man. The subsequent search at the point where the man had been seen, the military discovered, lying on the ground at the base of the tree, a pistol without serial number and modified in the barrel, such as to make it clandestine, equipped with a magazine with three 6 caliber bullets, 35mm.
The weapon was subjected to criminal seizure together with a mobile phone with two SIM cards with a fictitious header inserted inside.
The man was arrested flagrantly for possession of an illegal weapon and in total synergy with the Cassino Public Prosecutor’s Office the association in prison was ordered.
