A1 M – The semifinal of the Check-up RN Salerno Playout will be against CN Posillipo

The seventh and final day of the relegation round took place at the Simone Vitale Municipal Swimming Pool, between Check-Up Rari Nantes Salerno and Astra Nuoto Roma, Saturday 20 April 2024 at 4.30pm, finishing 9-11 for the Romans.

A start that foreshadowed a completely different result with Rari quickly taking the lead to 4-0. The Romans immediately returned to the game, closing the first set 4-3 and maintaining the substantial point-to-point parity until the beginning of the last quarter, where the hunger for victory for the possible direct salvation of the young and fast Astra team had the best.

The last decisive day for the definition of the playout grid saw the defeat of Circolo Nautico Posillipo at home, against Catania, a result that forces the team coached by Pino Porzio to the playout after having played an entire championship always in the safety zone. With this victory and the defeat of Posillipo, Astra Nuoto Roma earned direct salvation.

The playout semifinal will therefore be against Posillipo, scheduled for Game 1 on May 1st, Game 2 on May 8th, the only one at Vitale, and the possible Game 3 on Saturday 11th May.

“We congratulate Astra who came to make a great lady. They had something important to play for, like us, so it was a real match, with the right tension, with the right dynamism in the water and in the end they believed more in what could have been a direct salvation. That was the difference, they showed a little more nastiness than us. We started the match well, we had a small blackout where they measured us. The boys fought and tried until the end. We knew that this match mattered for the play-out position but we have to look at ourselves, we have to try to do the best we can regardless of who we meet. We already knew for some time that we would have to play in the play-outs.” Mister’s words Christian Presciutti.

Appointment at Wednesday 1st May at the Felice Scandone swimming pool in Naples.
