The Legal intervention group has submitted an intervention document as part of the environmental impact assessment procedure. The ecological association denounces that the power plant would be built “well within the buffer zone extending three kilometers from the limit of the protected areas with cultural restrictions (the Salei nuraghe) and with landscape restrictions”. Furthermore, the identified site “also affects the civic property of Seui”.

“As is known, land for civic use and civic property constitute a heritage of great importance for local communities, both from an economic-social point of view and for environmental protection aspects (a value systematically recognized in jurisprudence). The rights of civic use are inalienable, indivisible, inexhaustible and imprescriptible”, explain the environmentalists. Who add: “In the vast area (Sarcidano – Barbagia – Ogliastra) there is already the crazy presence of 52 wind farm projects (of which some are already authorised). For this reason, the GRIG asked the Ministry of the Environment “to express a formal denial of the environmental compatibility of the planned industrial plants”.
